Ingredients

8 ounces penne pasta

1 tablespoon olive oil

2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cubed

Salt and pepper to taste

3 cups broccoli florets

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the penne pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve about 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the rest and set aside.

Cook the Chicken: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the cubed chicken, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.

Sauté the Broccoli: In the same skillet, add the broccoli florets and garlic. Sauté for about 3-4 minutes until the broccoli is tender and bright green.

Make the Cream Sauce: Lower the heat to medium. Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese, red pepper flakes, and Italian seasoning. Mix well until the cheese is melted and the sauce is creamy. If the sauce is too thick, add some reserved pasta water until your desired consistency is reached.

Combine Everything: Add the cooked chicken and penne pasta to the skillet. Toss everything together until the pasta is well coated with the creamy sauce.

Serve: Divide the creamy broccoli and chicken penne into bowls. Garnish with fresh basil if desired and enjoy!
