Ingredients

1 lb (450g) boneless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1/4 cup cornstarch

2 eggs, beaten

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp onion powder

1/4 cup vegetable oil (for frying)

4 cloves garlic, minced

1/3 cup honey

1/4 cup soy sauce (low sodium preferred)

1 tbsp rice vinegar

1/2 tsp sesame oil

1 tbsp chopped green onions (for garnish)

Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

Prep the Chicken: In a bowl, mix the flour, cornstarch, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.

Coat the Chicken: Dip the chicken pieces into the beaten eggs, then coat them thoroughly with the flour mixture. Shake off any excess flour. Set aside.

Heat the Oil: In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. You want enough oil to cover the bottom of the pan.

Fry the Chicken: Once the oil is hot, add the chicken pieces in batches, avoiding overcrowding. Fry for about 4-5 minutes per batch, or until golden brown and crispy. Remove the chicken and drain on paper towels.

Prepare the Sauce: In the same skillet, lower the heat to medium. Add the minced garlic, and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Be careful not to burn it.

Combine Ingredients: Pour in the honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Stir to combine and let it come to a gentle simmer for about 2 minutes until slightly thickened.

Toss Chicken in Sauce: Add the crispy chicken back to the skillet, tossing it gently in the sauce until well coated.

Serve: Remove from heat, and garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds. Serve immediately over steamed rice or with vegetables.
