Ingredients

1 pound flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

1 large onion, sliced

1 red bell pepper, sliced

1 green bell pepper, sliced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon ginger, minced

1/4 cup soy sauce

2 tablespoons oyster sauce

1 tablespoon cornstarch

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

1 teaspoon black pepper

1 teaspoon sesame oil

Cooked rice or noodles, for serving

Green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

Marinate the Steak: In a medium bowl, combine the soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, rice vinegar, and black pepper. Add the sliced flank steak and toss to coat well. Allow it to marinate for at least 15 minutes to enhance the flavor.

Stir-Fry the Vegetables: Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the sliced onions and bell peppers, and stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until they are tender-crisp. Add the minced garlic and ginger, and continue to stir-fry for another 1 minute until fragrant. Remove the vegetables from the pan and set them aside.

Cook the Steak: In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Once hot, add the marinated steak in a single layer. Let it sear without moving it for about 2 minutes, then stir-fry for an additional 2-3 minutes until the steak is browned and cooked through.

Combine Everything: Return the cooked vegetables to the skillet with the steak. Drizzle with sesame oil and toss everything together, ensuring the vegetables are evenly coated and heated through.

Serve: Serve the sizzling pepper steak over a bed of cooked rice or noodles. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds for an extra touch.
