Ingredients

1 lb ground chicken

1 cup fresh spinach, finely chopped

1 cup white cheddar cheese, shredded

1/4 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko for extra crunch)

1 clove garlic, minced

1 small onion, finely chopped

1 egg

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 teaspoon paprika

1/2 teaspoon dried oregano

4 whole grain burger buns

Olive oil for grilling

Optional toppings: avocado slices, sliced tomatoes, and your favorite sauce (e.g., aioli or sriracha mayonnaise)

Instructions

Prepare the Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, chopped spinach, shredded white cheddar cheese, breadcrumbs, minced garlic, chopped onion, egg, salt, black pepper, paprika, and dried oregano. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well incorporated.

Form Patties: Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a burger patty, ensuring they are uniform in thickness for even cooking.

Preheat the Grill: Preheat your grill or a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Lightly drizzle with olive oil to prevent sticking.

Cook the Patties: Once the grill is hot, place the chicken patties on the surface. Cook for 6-7 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C) and they are golden brown.

Toast the Buns: In the last couple of minutes of cooking, place the burger buns on the grill to toast lightly.

Assemble the Burgers: Once the patties are cooked and the buns are toasted, assemble your burgers by placing a patty on each bun. Top with optional toppings like avocado slices, sliced tomatoes, and your choice of sauce.

Serve: Enjoy your White Cheddar and Spinach Chicken Burgers hot, served with a side of sweet potato fries or a fresh salad.
