Ground chicken serves as the backbone of our burger recipe, providing a lean alternative to traditional beef. This poultry option is notable for its lower fat content, making it an attractive choice for those looking to reduce their fat intake while still enjoying the satisfaction of a burger. Ground chicken is also incredibly versatile; it can absorb flavors well, allowing it to marry beautifully with the other ingredients in our recipe.

Ingredients

1 pound ground chicken

1 cup fresh spinach, chopped

1/2 cup white cheddar cheese, shredded

1/4 cup breadcrumbs

1/4 cup finely chopped onion

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

1/2 teaspoon paprika

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Olive oil (for grilling)

Burger buns

Lettuce leaves (for serving)

Sliced tomatoes (for serving)

Optional: Aioli or your favorite sauce

Instructions

Prepare the Mixture: In a large bowl, combine the ground chicken, chopped spinach, white cheddar cheese, breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, Dijon mustard, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.

Shape the Patties: Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, about 3/4 inch thick.

Preheat the Grill: Preheat your grill or stovetop grill pan over medium heat. Brush the grill lightly with olive oil to prevent sticking.

Cook the Patties: Grill the chicken patties for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C) and the patties are golden brown.

Toast the Buns: During the last few minutes of cooking, slice the burger buns and place them cut-side down on the grill or in a toaster until lightly toasted.

Assemble the Burgers: Place each grilled chicken patty on a toasted bun. Top with fresh lettuce, sliced tomatoes, and a dollop of aioli or your favorite sauce if desired.

Serve: Serve the burgers warm with your favorite sides like sweet potato fries or a side salad.
